Recomendations for specific brands/models about 10 Gallon wet/dry vac
QUESTION: I am about to get 10 Gallon wet/dry vac to clean out my water heater.
We may have other uses for it, because we have two dogs in the house.
I've seen two of them at Sears (one at $200 for an 8-amp model and the
other at $300 for a 10-amp model). I have no idea how good these are.
I'd be glad to take recomendations for other specific brands/models, or
even general guidelines.
Thanks in advance.
ANSWER: I think the essential parts of a wet/dry are: 1. Amount of suction - rated in horsepower. 2. Amount of stuff it can hold inside.
Good Luck. I think the previous replier is correct, don't get one too
big. If you want, just rent one at the local rental store. I bought one from sears at a super sale for $100. It sucks. Literally.
But it is a huge one, like a million gallon one. If I had to do it again, I
would buy a smaller model. One that can be toted around a bit easier and doesnt
take half the garage to store. I saw a *Bissell* BIG GREEN CLEAN machine in one of the Infomercials last
week. It costs $299 (payable in 10 interest free payments). It is wet/dry
and also a carpet steamer/shampoo machine.
They were demostrating its suction power by lifting a bowling ball with
the suction. And it is not huge either.
I don't have anything to do with Bissell and I don't own this machine either.
Just a piece of info (for what it's worth).
