The Sears 16 Gallon Wet Dry Vac With Detachable Blower need to replace
QUESTION: I just bought the Sears 16 gallon shop vac with the detachable motor
that can be used as a leaf blower three years ago .Yesterday it
finally died, and I'm about to get a new one. Any recommendations
of what to look for or avoid?
ANSWER: You may just want to think
about getting another of the same model, assuming it's available.
If it isn't, look close at the Shop Vac QPV--the model with the spigot on
the side that lets the vac be used as a pump. We have one at work and
they're okay. It's no Lamborghini pump (yes, it's the same Lamborghini
that makes the cars) to be certain, but it will move water from one place
to another. I told SWMBO we should buy one many months ago. No, you
already have a shop vac, she said. Then the septic tank plugged up and the
rains flooded the basement and the washer
decided to stop emptying. One washer = three Shop Vac tankfuls of water.
I kinda like the Hoover with dual tanks too--saves the problem of dumping
out the dry crap and pulling all the filters when trying to vacuum up
water. just got a new Shop Vac, called On Demand, and love it so far.
I is designed to be good with dust, and has a triggered outlet on the front,
Plug your tool into the vac, and when you fire the tool, the vac starts, and
runs for several seconds after tool is shut off. The pick up is very good,
and unlike old vacs I had with bags, blows no noticeable dust out.
I like it and suggest you look it up.
