Use 5HP wet/dry vac -It's ok ?

QUESTION:

i would like to hook up a wet/dry vac for collecting dust and debri on my delta cs II and a router table. are there any suggestions re:
-reccommended hp on vac(is 5-7 ok ?
-size of vac (is 10-12 gallons ok?)
-should i rig a tubing system or just hook direct to saw/router table?
-should i rig a trash can to the tubing and use the vac only for creating a vaccum and use the trash can to collect what comes through the pipes?
-are there any sites that talk about a poor man's dust collector?
thanks for any suggestions...

ANSWER:

Used a 5HP vac and there is no comparison! I wholeheartedly agree to go with dust collection unit. Try Penn State Ind. as they have a 700CFM unit for around $200 and a smaller portable for less.
Unless you're planning on using the wet/dry as a vac other than in the shop, buy a commercial "dust collector". They'll do a fine job vacuuming floors too, and the shavings from routing won't clog like the smaller diameter hoses on shop vacs. Lots of discussion on dust collectors in the group. Personally, a 1hp unit with a trashcan collector on wheels to move to individual tools is my preference. Induction run motors are easier on your ears and the family's TV watching, too.
I use a Reliant system now, but still use a Hoover wet dry vac for some things. It works better if you take the insert out that seperstes the wet from the dry. You don't have to change it so often.
