QUESTION: Hey guys, just had a Mustang II front end installed on a 40 Ford. Had
to replace the lines and installed the metering valve and the check
valve etc. When I tried to bleed the brakes I get no pedal
whatsoever. I have fluid with no bubbles etc. coming out at each
wheel but still can't get a pedal. Someone told me there is a trick
to holding in the small button on the metering valve when doing this.
Has anyone ever heard of this? I know it sounds like there is still
air in the system but believe me, there isn't, at least not any that
comes out when we bleed the brakes. Have tried the traditional way
and with a Air Vac vacuum pump, no luck. Any suggestions?
ANSWER: Where is the master cylinder? If its below the floor there is a special
way to bleed the brakes (I can't remember, I read it somewhere tho, check
out books on building a Hotrod). My master on my 46 Merc will be on the
Firewall, nothing special to bleeding it.
