Bosch vacuum add-on mystery
QUESTION: I recently bought several Bosch add-on vacuum advance units from
Beetlemex, as mentioned on this newsgroup, intended for installation on
the 009 distributor. Alas, the little boxes contain no directions!
Anybody have any suggestions as to how this unit is installed? I
emailed the vender, but have not received a response. Help!!
ANSWER: you can NOT add a vacuum advance to the centrifugal only 009. They are
selling parts, and have no clue about what they are selling.
The problem is there is about 5 different "009s", the one everyone has here
in the US is not compatible with any vac can, and can't be because of it's
design.
Don't they also sell a 009 with the vac cannister? Or is it they sell the
distributer on one page and then the cannister on another? Will these work with
a 31 PICT carb? Seems like a really good deal...if it really works.
ANYTHING is possible for the serious tweaker :-)
Which reminds me, did you ever mate the 76 Skoda adjustable vacuum canister
with an SVDA?
Mine runs fine.. .just that the dizzy itself is worn.
