I have a problem trying to remotely control my central vac (by "Budd" ?,
no model #)
QUESTION: I have a problem trying to remotely control my central vac (by "Budd" ?,
no model #). I've tried a couple of remotely controlled
switches by now and none of them work (they both work OK with other
home appliances).
My vac is connected via 3-prong (regular kind) plug to a regular outlet,
which in turn is controlled from my central breaker board in the garage.
So every time I need to turn the vac on or off I have to go to the
garage,
which is inconvenient.
So I tried those 2 remote units, but they seem to have no effect on the
darn
thing. Even with those remotely controlled switches in between, the vac
goes
on the second I turn the breaker on, as if there is no extra switch in
between.
Trying to remotely control the switches has no effect - the vac stays on
until
I switch the breaker off.
What could be the problem ? The switches I bought are powerful enough to
control
the vac (15 amp rating) and they do work perfectly with other
appliances. I
think that the vac or the outlet is wired wrong, so that it ignores the
wire
that the remote operates on .. which not only is wrong but also is a
potential
hazard ... how else could it ignore the remote switch ?
ANSWER: Sorry but I nerver seen this problem as you did.You need go to central
vac services to ask . Good luck
