Where can I buy vacuum cleaner belts?
QUESTION: I need two replacement rubber drive belts, for two uprights, a Hoover and a
Bissel.
Where can I buy vacuum cleaner belts?
Do I have to go to a PDX area dealer and spend way too much?
ANSWER: No you don't. You can go to a vacuum cleaner repair shop
that you find in the Yellow Pages, where you will also spend
way too much. You can also check the thrift shops (for old
machines you can purchase, use the belts, toss out the machines).
You can try the web sites of Hoover and Bissel to see what
they might offer via mail order. You can contact Sears to see
what they have in the way of replacement parts. You could
post here with the specific model numbers of the machines and
perhaps someone would have unused belts left over after their
machine died. You can use Google and search for, perhaps,
"replacement vacuum cleaner belts" to see if there is a local
distributor for repair parts. I've obtained mine via business
such as "Service Parts" that specialize in replacement parts
for appliances, but do not know if they have a local store.
I have two spare belts, for cleaners we no longer own, but
they are not for Bissel or Hoover Starks has reasonable prices and carry almost every brand.
