Old Electro/Hygiene central vacuum cleaner is hard to find bag
QUESTION: My mother has an approximately 20 yr old Electro/Hygiene central vacuum
cleaner. It works great, built like a tank, but its hard to find bags.
The unit closely resemmbles a Kirby 510 with a slightly smaler
discharge nozzle. Can I use Kirby bags, which can actually be found in
stores? BTW, is the Electro/Hygiene company still in existance?
ANSWER: I have a 20 year old Mighty Mite that's also hard to find bags for.
Sears actually carries a wide range of bags, but I had to buy 20 of them
last time. Try the local vacuum repair center in your area, they also
carry a lot of different bags.
Electro-Hygiene machines if uprights, use royal type A bags. If they are tanks,
it's type J royal bags, and if a round canister, the canister bags are special
order from a royal dealer, so stock up now.
