Dirt Devil Central Vac in 5'er?
QUESTION: I got Dirt Devil Central Vac for Xmas and I'm not sure about several things.
According to the instructions, I need to drill a 3" hole "Near" the vac
system for 'ventilation' to the outside.
I'm sitting here looking out at 6" of snow and thinking about a 3" vent down
around my feet. Doesn''t make sense to me.
Has anyone done one of these? Can you pass on any tips?
ANSWER: My previous fiver had a central vacuuming system of a different brand. The
motor was mounted in the pass-through compartment just under the stairs. There
was a square vent in one of the stairs that, I guess, acted in that capacity.
FWIW, The little sucker, *didn't*. I pulled the plug on it and bought me a
real vacuum cleaner when the professional carpet cleaner guy showed me a ton
and a half of sand that he had sucked out of my carpeting
