build a central vacuum pump from a Frigidaire A/C
QUESTION: I've aquired a compressor that I am going to use to build a central vacuum pump.
It's from a Frigidaire A/C but I think it will fit other models too. The
Frigidaire part number is 5303271049. It is built by Sanyo and is a rotary
type. The information off the compressor is; Model #80665442 C-1R65H2D, 1PH,
60Hz, 115V, LRA 44, R22, and Serial Number 0296 44255. I have a couple of
question about it that maybe someone can help me with.
I know I'll need a capacitor to start this, is a 370V 35mfd the correct
size?
Anyone know a model number of an appliance that uses this compressor?
What is the copper colored "tank like object" coming from the bottom?
ANSWER: You go buy a vacuum pump. The refer comperssor is not and will
never make a good vacuum pump.
