Hoover S3765 040 Windtunnel Bagless Canister Vacuum

QUESTION:

Part of the issue for me with Dysons is that I don't feel the need to pay a premium because I don't really feel the pain. For instance, my current vacuum cleaner, a Hoover S3765-040 WindTunnel bagless canister vacuum cleaner for which I paid USD150-ish, picks up dirt fairly adequately even on its lowest setting, and when I have it working on full power (and it's still not too loud) it appears to do a great job. When cheap vacuum cleaners already do better than I'd hoped, I've no reason to buy something expensive.Any ideas about it ?Thanks

ANSWER:

I'm not sure how much to read into the fact it seems to be guys saying this. A cyclone cleaner is something that men can enjoy using. You can explain how it works to your mates down the pub. If it was made for girls it'd be pink instead of yellow. But if it worked twice or half as well as another vacuum cleaner, what guy would notice? And AIUI, vacuuming isn't about picking lint off the visible carpet surface, but, as has been remarked, it's about sucking the dust that gets /into/ the carpet and is invisible, away.
