How To Install Central Vac
QUESTION: Anybody ever install on of those central vac's system?
How To Install Central Vac .Thinking about
purchasing one for my two story home and would like to
attemp to install in myself. Any advice or comments would
greatly be appreciated.
ANSWER: Can be done, difficulty depends on how much of it must go through finished
walls. Of course, one thing I can tell you is be careful how you route it so
that dust on the way to the unit doesn't have the opportunity to fall down
into an outlet on a lower floor. Our setup was like that until we altered
it
I don't know of many people who are happy with central vacuums. They
don't have the suction of a regular vacuum, and ones with decent power
heads are expensive. The "convenience" is greatly overrated. You still
have to drag the hose and head set out, and will need one for each floor
for reasonable convenience.
