QUESTION: I didn't get any takers with 'where do you get good quality vacuum forming
clear sheet from in the UK?', so heres another. Does anybody know the 'real'
name of clear sheet used for vac forming? I thought I may give ringing
around some plastics suppliers a try. I am after 0.75 and 0.10 thou
thickness. As usual, any help would be greatly appreciated.
ANSWER: The Clear stuff comes in varous forms but I think the stuff you need is
called PTFE, if memory serves me right it vac forms beutifully, and if glues
like a dream.
My day job is an architectural modelmaker, and for Vac forming clear we use
Perspex, which is great, but very expensive.
