Is it worth a try to QUIET
a wet/dry VAC Motor ?
QUESTION: Is it worth a try to QUIET a wet/dry VAC Motor ?
How do you suggest I do that ? Any ideas ?
ANSWER: Rigid from Home Depot sells a muffler attachment for there vacuums. Cheap ear plugs that come in plastic flip box. Velcro the box to the vac.
Everytime I use the vac, the ear plugs are handy. I've seen plans for mufflers made from PVC. In reality it just moves the
noise up and away. Do a search with google.com The muffler that Home Depot sells for the Ridgid line works somewhat. All it
does is diffuse the air flow from the discharge of the vac, and thats it. It
does nothing to quiet the motor.
We were using Ridgid long before Home Depot picked them up and started
selling them, and one thing I have to admit, as far as wet dry vacs go,
power to noise ratios with them have to be some of the quieter ones on the
market.
