QUESTION: I have just bought a Rainbow vacuum cleaner.
The salesman told me that it was better than other vacuum cleaners on the
market because the exhaust air was cleaned by bubbling through water instead
for filtering through a filter bag (as in most vacuum cleaners). Therefore
the exhaust air had less dust and less bacterias than conventional vacuum
cleaners. He dogmatized that this was perfect for people with allergies.
Now, I've been told that this has been researched by health institutes and
the result was that there is more dust and more bacterias coming out from
the Rainbow vacuum cleaner exhaust than from other vacuum cleaners.
So, What is true ?
Can anyone inform me the truth on this. Does anyone know if I can find
informations about research on the Rainbow vacuum cleaner.
Thank's in advance,
ANSWER: Consumers Reports tested Rainbow & many others, and also concluded that
Rainbow is not as effective as standard vacuums. We recently bought a rainbow vacuum cleaner. I was impressed by what it
did, but I think the price is a total rip-off. My wife wanted it though
so we got it. As far as it exhausting cleaner air that an bag type
cleaner, it would take a lot of convincing to make me believe it
doesn't.
