QUESTION: I am considering purchasing a Riccar Commercial upright vacuum
cleaner. I was able to borrow one and try it in my home. It
was very impressive as far as its suction, tools, and extra
long cord.
What concerns me is that Consumer Reports rates it very low
in the repairs department. I have asked several vacuum repair
people what they think and get varied responses.
If anyone has a Riccar Commercial (or any other Riccar upright)
could you please tell me how you like it and how long you have
had it?
ANSWER: I personally own a Fantom, but I have heard some good things about this
vac on Prodigy. Expect any commercially used Vac to have more repairs,
it is the nature of the work. I have had a Riccar upright for 5 years and love it. I replace the
belt on it about every 3 months and have not had any problems at all.
My neighbor also owns one and has had no problems either. I think it
is the best machine on the market. Even the carpet cleaning service I
used commented on the good job that it did. I would not hesitate to
recommend it for anyone. I own a Riccar Commercial upright (the red one) and loved it. It made
a great suction, even at nearly full bag. SUCK SUCK. After one simply
pass on thick densely carpet, it felt so clean, soft and good walking
on it barefooted. I owned it for 8 months, vacuuming sometimes weekly
and sometimes bi-weekly. No problems so far. I only replaced belt
only once after accidently slip off and it is pretty
straight-forwarded to repair it following the instructions, yet a bit
time consuming. Repeat, I loved it. So I recommend it, especially
the ones without built-in attachments
