QUESTION: My wife says she saw a Robotic Vacuum cleaner advertised/talked about
recently on the television.
The demonstration showed it approaching and then detouring around a win=e
glass placed on the carpet.
Does anyone have any information on this product.

Its certainly been touted around the press a lot and for a long time
now. Somehow its all over the papers again , although i saw the same
pictures being bandied around in feb/march of this year. Seems they want
the publicity for christmas we guess.

and to date , its been a re-hash of that in the papers by the
journalists.
They also have a solar powered lawn mower which is being sold by
husqvana so they say.
"Although there are no immediate plans for production, Electrolux hopes
that the robot vacuum cleaner could become a standard item in homes all
over the world in the future."
or what they mean to say is that after all this publicity they get
enough interest at =A3500 pound a unit they'll make some or sell the
designs.
The one on show doesnt recharge itself, or empty the bag. If you wanted
to make one , i had a look at some rechargeable dustdevils and I cant
see it being very hard with a circular base and a simple avoidance prog
and a couple of IR sensors. Was going to have a go , but all mine have
chainsaws on
