Eureka Sanitaire vacuum a good choice?
QUESTION: I am in market for e new vacuum.
Happened to be at bookstore the other day thumbing thru
a book on "cleaning".
The author recommended a Eureka Sanitaire upright as
his best recommendation for a vac.
Does anyone have one.... and what model do you have?
Ive checked the Sanitaire web page in link below......
but there are a LOT of models to choose from

ANSWER: I have a Sanitaire and, if you have the book I am thinking of, I
purchased the very model the author recommended.
Pluses: Readily available; parts are readily available as are the bags;
quite rugged; easy to maintain.
Minuses: Consumer Reports didn't rate it very high; it's on the heavy side.
Mine is now about 15 years old so I guess it was a good purchase but I
would look at the recommendations of Consumer Reports and understand and
their logic before buying another one
