Shop Vacuum or Shop Pro ?
QUESTION: Has anyone ever used a shop vacuum called "Shop Pro". This shop
vacuum is sold here in Canada as an alternative to Shop Vac. I tried
searching this group and nothing came up. I will be replacing my shop
vac soon, judging by the sound of the motor. It has been replaced
once and I will not replace a second. I will not buy shop vac again
if it can be avoided.
I'm trying to find out if vacuums from Shop Pro are any good or better
than Shop Vac. Another important detail will be the noise level. My
shop vac sounds like I'm testing jet engines for Boeing. Thanks in
advance for your help.

ANSWER: if sound is a consideration you have one choice: Fein. They have 3
models, and 2 of them have a cool feature: plug a tool into the outlet
on the vacuum, flip a switch to "automatic" and the vacuum comes on when
you turn on your tool and it has a 3 or 4 second delay to clear the
hose, when you turn off your tool. Or of course, you can use it like
any other vacuum, with the separate on/off switch, with the
aforementioned switch set to "Manual".
Highly regarded. It may not suck as much as some monster vacs, but it
is good enough and it's about on a par, sound wise, with a home vac. I
have the middle sized model.
Note: the bags are pricey. They also make 1 micron outlet filters, and
HEPA filters, among others. the more filtering you do on the outlet,
the less efficient the vacuum is, but better for breathing. I use the 1
micron filter. It worked like magic when I was doing some drywall
sanding. NO visible particulates in the air while sanding with a PC pad
sander.
I am not familiar with shop pro.
I use a little 8 gallon shopvac QSP -- I think that's the letters. It
is the low noise line and it works very nice. I also have a shopvac 16
gallon blower and vac that is beyond noisy... deafening squeal to it and
