QUESTION: Perhaps uniquely among manufacturers, Dyson seem to have a policy of
immediately sending you a replacement part if one of their machines becomes
defective, and without even asking to examine the defective part. Regardless
of whether you have an extended warranty. This is of course an admirable
policy.
On the other hand, do their machines last as long as other makes, and has
anyone reached a point where they have been refused a replacement part?
ANSWER: My local tip ("recycling centre") always has no end of Dysons put on one
side - maybe a dozen at any one time. They're a fiver each, I think, if
you want one. At the car-boot sale (400 yards away, each Sunday)
there's a guy who always has re-conditioned Dysons for 35 quid each.
I've a Dyson from the tip, and it's marvellous. It picks up more dog
hairs in one minute than my Miele picks up in five.
