vacuum pot coffee won't "go south"
QUESTION: Hi all! I've been using my Santos vacuum pot for a few years (more
off than on), and as of late, I've noticed that after the coffee has
boiled the amount time, that when I remove it from the heat,
sometimes, the coffee just won't go down. I've tried stirring it,
reaching down to adjust the filter by pushing it slightly (thinking
that it might be improper alignment), and pulling the top part up to
release some steam... but nothing will I've tried will make that
coffee go down!
Please help!
ANSWER: My first guess is that you are still using the same grinder, the burrs
have worn, and are now creating more dust than they did when new. The
dust creates mud which is clogging the brewer.

removed from the heat source (and before the coffee goes south), then
there is a vacuum leak. My Cory stalled once and the vacuum was such
that the filter rod couldn't even be moved!
