QUESTION: What are some practical uses for a small wet/dry vacuum cleaner? I have heard
that they clean up spills and drain stopped up sinks. Anything else? I see
them on sale at the local hardware stores and am interested in how people use
them. Thanks.
ANSWER: It also makes quick work of dry debris like christmas tree needles that
your floor vac chokes on. I use it to vacuum out the cars. And I once set
the hose at the entrance to a ground hornet nest (put some bleach and
water in the tank). I use a small wet/dry vac for lots of things. Among them are:
Cleaning up after my two pet parrots
Cleaning out air conditioning drain lines
connected to a hand sander for dust control
It would be hard to do without it now. Some power tools (sanders and planers, for example) have a connection for a
dust bag/collector. The end of the "wand" from a shop vac will fit some of
these, creating an efficient and affordable dust collector.
Just an idea!
